Live Scan and FD-258 ink cards
When a role, licence or agency requires a fingerprint-based check, Vettr captures prints digitally with Live Scan and transmits them to the FBI and state repositories. Live Scan cuts paper handling, lowers rejection rates and speeds up results for pre-employment, licensing and regulatory submissions.
For submissions that still require the FBI FD-258 card, including immigration applications, some federal licensing and international background checks, trained technicians complete cards to FBI formatting standards and check legibility before release.
Every print is quality-checked before it's submitted. Candidates get clear prep instructions, and your team gets submission confirmation with a tracking reference.

Frequently asked questions
What ID does a candidate need to bring?
Valid, government-issued photo ID: a passport, state driver's license, or a federal or state ID card. The name on the ID must match the name on the screening record.
How long does a Live Scan appointment take?
About 15–20 minutes for one candidate, including paperwork, ID check and capture. Group sessions are planned around your volume and logistics.
When will results be available?
Live Scan results for clean records typically return within 48–72 hours. Records needing extra review can take longer; the FBI or state repository controls the final timeline. FD-258 cards mailed to the FBI typically take 7–10 business days.
Can you handle out-of-state repositories?
We handle FBI national and Florida (FDLE) fingerprint submissions. If a candidate needs another state's repository, confirm the required pathway with that authority and talk to us about options.
What if a candidate's prints are rejected?
Every print is quality-checked before submission to keep rejections low. If a repository rejects prints for quality, we coordinate a reprint appointment.
Do you offer on-site screening outside South Florida?
On-site sessions currently run across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. For other Florida locations, get in touch and we'll assess what's possible.
